Tips for Enjoying Your Camera

Ten years ago, the most popular cameras were those with 35
millimeters films. Those cameras are still used today by
professional photographers because the quality of their
pictures is excellent and they are easier to use than the
digital cameras. The 35 millimeter cameras are also used by
people who can't afford to spend hundreds of dollars to buy
a digital one.

One downside to the 35mm is that you must have the photos
developed at a photo lab in order to see how they turned
out, unless you have your own darkroom. Another traditional
film camera is the 110. These cameras were not as popular
due to the poorer photo quality. These are commonly used by
children and people who could not afford the more expensive
35 millimeter. However for a first-time photographer these
are a good learning tool for snapping off a few shots.

Going Digital

In the last few years, the diversity of digital cameras has
mushroomed and the prices have plummeted. You can find any
type of cameras you want from those cheap cameras used
mainly for emailing pictures, up to those used by pros. You
can tune the shading, the level of details any many others
and pictures can be stored on the camera's memory card.

While new better cameras appeared on the market, the old
ones disappeared or their prices went down to a reasonable
level. Now you can easily and inexpensively buy a digital
camera with quality comparable or even better than the old
35 millimeter ones. Some pros believe that film cameras will
be almost obsolete within 10 years.

When the camera technology is advancing so quickly, it is
obvious that the technology used to handle these digital
pictures must advance as well. It used to be a problem for
people who wanted prints from their digital photos. But now
you can easily download your photos and print them yourself
or visit a camera or discount store with a small kiosk
housing a printer and a reader for digital camera memory
cards or sticks and have them printed there. Most Wal-Mart
stores, for example, have these and you can get your
pictures printed while taking care of other shopping.

Either way, this is an effective solution if you don't have
your own printer. Nowadays the benefits to digital photos
tend to outweigh the disadvantages. One key advantage is the
ability to share these photos quickly and easily with family
and friends worldwide via email and the World Wide Web.
